However, US activity slows down, with emerging countries driving growth. Global economic, social, and political risks persist, including the dissolution of the French National Assembly.     Paris, July 9, 2024 – Following the snap legislative elections called by President Emmanuel Macron on June 9th and held on July 7th, no party was able to secure an absolute majority in the National Assembly (289 seats), ushering a period of uncertainty and instability for France’s governance.

    Will the Turkish economy benefit from the authorities’ U-turn towards greater orthodoxy?

    The general elections of May 2023 marked a shift in Turkish economic policy with the implementation of more orthodox policies to end a period characterised by negative real interest rates and a sharp depreciation of the lira.
